Hi! I’m Cathy Coughlin, one of the proud franchise owners of Small Town Play Café. I couldn’t be more excited to bring a little Small Town magic to Woodbridge, NJ!

When I first became a mom, the flagship Small Town Play Café in Westfield quickly became my go-to spot. From playdates to coffee dates, work-from-home afternoons to seemingly endless rainy Sundays, Small Town became a place I could count on. Now, with two little ones, I’ve come to appreciate just how special it is to have a space that grows with you through every stage of parenthood.

One of my favorite Small Town memories is celebrating my daughter’s third birthday. As an exhausted postpartum mom navigating life with a newborn, I wanted nothing more than to make the newly minted
“big sister” feel like the center of the universe. Small Town’s all-in-one birthday party experience let me do exactly that, without the stress of planning every little detail. It was one of those moments when I realized
just how much this place meant to our family.

And so, when I heard Small Town was franchising, I knew immediately I wanted to be part of it.
Although my family now calls Cranford home, my ties to the Woodbridge community run deep. My husband and college sweetheart, Craig Coughlin, Jr., grew up in Fords, and “the Best Town Around” remains home to so many of our family members and closest friends.

When it came time to find our own little corner of Woodbridge, we were drawn to Avenel for its neighborhood feel and convenient location. We’re thrilled to be joining the new Cloverleaf Center at 1014 Saint Georges Avenue, where we hope Small Town will become part of families’ everyday routines and some of their most special memories.
I know firsthand what a difference a place like Small Town can make for parents and caregivers, and I can’t wait to bring that same sense of connection, convenience, and community to Woodbridge.
